We believe that true progress is measured by the well-being of the last person in line. The Jawahar Foundation is a deeply personal initiative from our founder, Riju Jhunjhunwala. It is a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards the resilient communities of Rajasthan, born from a conviction that true responsibility lies in providing dignity where it is needed most.
By transforming India’s stark realities into scalable impact, our Swabhiman (Self-Respect) initiatives have already provided over 3.3 million nutritious meals, 1.1 million litres of safe water, and digital certifications for 22,000 children. While our journey began in Rajasthan, we invite forward-looking organizations to collaborate in extending this measurable, SDGaligned model across the country - bringing opportunity and dignity to communities throughout India.
Our initiatives focus on essential human needs like nourishment, water, learning, health, employment, and a thriving natural environment. Each area is shaped to uplift communities with dignity and long-term support.
Our programs are designed to be more than just services; they are promises of a better life.
Our digital literacy program has revolutionized classrooms in over 50 partner schools. By empowering children with 21st-century skills, we’ve seen a 23% increase in school attendance and a renewed passion for learning.
This initiative addresses severe food insecurity by providing nourishing, hygienic meals for just ₹1. Operating through 11 community kitchens, it ensures that anyone in need who lacks the resources never has to face the day on an empty stomach.
Launched to combat the harsh realities of water scarcity and contamination, this program has distributed nearly a million liters of clean drinking water. By establishing hydration stations and purification points, we are ensuring protection against waterborne illnesses.
Faces of Change
India ranks 102nd out of 123 countries in the 2025 Global Hunger Index, with a score of 25.8 indicating serious hunger levels. About one in three children face stunting, and approximately 172 million people are undernourished. These troubling statistics are the reason we began, and the foundation now provides welfare in several areas important for the betterment of people. But it always begins with proper nutrition and good health.
